  Hi everyone! My name is Alessio. I am from Long Island, New York. I had a brain injury from a car accident that happened December 12, 2007. I was in a coma for one and a half months. When I woke up I couldn’t move the right side of my body. Gradually, with the help of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. For the next few years, all I did was go to the gym, research the brain, how to heal from a brain injury and any other problems I was having. What I needed most was someone to talk to and ask questions. I would even ask strangers. So I decided to create an safe, online space, where you can find other like-minded people that can help. Here we are!

  Hi everyone,

  My name is Tom Wood. I helped Alessio get this forum started. While I’ve had a few concussions when I was younger, I can only imagine what TBI is like when you’re the only one you know who has experienced it. I’m glad that Alessio has started this site so people with brain injuries can find others like them.
